3 Mint Herbal Teas

Mint_Tea-b.jpg

Here are a few super simple tea recipes that I have been making for years and are perfect for the summer heat.

INGREDIENTS MINT TEA:

  • 8 tablespoons peppermint or spearmint leaves

  • 1/2 gallon of purified water

INGREDIENTS GREEN MINT TEA:

INGREDIENTS MINT LAVENDER TEA:

  • 4 tablespoons peppermint or spearmint leaves

  • 4 tablespoons of lavender

  • 1/2 gallon of purified water

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add water to a pot and bring it to a boil.

  2. Turn off the heat, add herbs and put a lid on the pot.

  3. Let it steep until it is fully cooled and then pour it through a strainer to remove the leaves.

  4. You can add sweetener to taste at this point or just leave it plain. Both taste great.

NOTES:

  1. Green tea should not be steeped as long as herbal teas or it will become bitter. When making the Green Mint Tea, add the green tea leaves at the end and only let it steep for 2-4 minutes.

  2. I like to pour it in a pitcher and put it in the fridge to chill it. On a hot day the taste of mint cool tea is so refreshing. You can serve it straight, or over ice with a sprig of fresh mint leaves.
