Job Description
The Director of Warehouse Operations oversees the entire Warehouse Branch and serves as a key member of Spirit of Health’s leadership. This role is responsible for developing a team that actively pursues the company’s vision and mission while fostering a culture of accountability, mentorship, growth, and operational excellence. The Director leads by example, inspires team members through coaching and support, and continually seeks opportunities to improve operational efficiency, team performance, financial profitability, and overall workplace culture.
The Director plays a key role in shaping and maintaining a healthy, growth-oriented team environment by encouraging professionalism, collaboration, trust, and alignment with company values. They help cultivate a workplace culture where team members feel supported, challenged, accountable, and equipped to succeed. The Director of Warehouse Operations must effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, knowing when to collaborate with Owners and leadership while ensuring clear and timely communication to team members. This role is responsible for identifying operational challenges, recognizing areas for improvement, and proactively initiating solutions.
Directors are expected to demonstrate strong leadership in both people and project management by building efficient teamwork, establishing accountability, and appropriately delegating responsibilities while empowering others to succeed. Directors are expected to demonstrate extreme ownership in both successes and failures by providing the direction, resources, and support needed to achieve team objectives.
This position requires strong organizational and administrative capabilities, including the ability to learn and effectively utilize technology-based systems such as Google Workspace (Email, Meet, Docs, Sheets, etc.), inventory and e-commerce platforms, scheduling software, and other operational tools. The Director should be adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable learning new systems as operational needs evolve. The Director must also be capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, as well as climbing stairs and ladders as needed within the warehouse environment.
The Director of Warehouse Operations is expected to demonstrate emotional intelligence, humility, self-awareness, and professionalism in leadership. They must be able to navigate conflict effectively, maintain positive working relationships throughout the chain of command, and make sound decisions without allowing emotions to negatively influence judgment. Strong leaders know when to seek support, communicate needs clearly, and work collaboratively with fellow leaders to strengthen the organization as a whole.
The Director of Warehouse Operations is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operations of the Warehouse Branch.
Duties Include:
1.) Management of Staff: Lead the recruitment and hiring of staff, help head up the onboarding and staff training process, create and manage employee schedules, including monthly schedules, breaks, and time off requests, provide accountability for all warehouse staff and uphold company policies, create positive team morale and address staff conflict or concerns, empower the staff to grow in SOH core values, implement regular monthly touchpoints with the Warehouse staff and bi-annual performance reviews with goal setting.
2.) Warehouse Operations & Wholesale: Implement, manage, and improve systems that create efficiency related to inventory management, shipping and receiving, product production, and all Warehouse functions, make sure that annual, seasonal, monthly, and weekly management of building operations are being done correctly, and assist ownership with addressing any building-related concerns that require hiring outside help, orders company supplies, manages wholesale accounts and answers wholesale questions through email and phone, works alongside warehouse staff to make sure wholesale orders are fulfilled properly.
3.) Warehouse Cleanliness & Safety: create effective protocols and quality standards for employees to maintain Warehouse operations and overall cleanliness, oversee that the Warehouse is kept clean, orderly, and organized, and ensure that employees are maintaining good safety practices.
4.) Customer Service: Create effective customer service procedures, policies, and standards, respond to customer complaints and seek to restore customer relations in difficult situations, develop & train staff in customer service skills, implement ideas that would foster customer loyalty and improve communication with online customers.
5.) Productivity & Sales Performance: Create and implement strategies to improve productivity and sales performance in efforts to achieve the financial targets of the branch, including but not limited to new selling platforms, overall branch profitability, optimizing shipping costs, etc.
This is a full-time role of 36+ hours weekly, Monday – Friday.
Starting pay based on experience: $21 - $24 an hour
