Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Job Description
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is the point of contact for online orders arriving at the Spirit of Health Warehouse. This role takes ownership of preparing, packing, shipping, and receiving products with excellence, accuracy, and care to ensure a positive customer experience from start to finish.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, organized, and comfortable working with computer programs and shipping systems. A heart for teamwork, customer service, and maintaining high standards is key to success in this role. The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is cross-trained in all basic warehouse functions and assists the warehouse team with tasks, as needed. This role requires the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time and safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Below are the descriptions and tasks for which the Shipping & Receiving Specialist will be responsible.
The areas the Shipping & Receiving Specialist will be responsible for:
1) Checking Incoming Orders: reviews incoming online orders to ensure they are ready to be fulfilled and shipped, checks for potential fraud concerns, verifies shipping addresses, prioritizes expedited shipments, identifies customers with multiple orders that may be combined, reviews special customer notes or requests that may be honored, and prints purchase orders for fulfillment.
2) Filling Orders: fills orders for shipment by accurately pulling products, fulfilling herb orders, packing orders securely to prevent damage, and preparing shipments professionally to provide high-quality customer experience.
3) Shipping Orders: determines the most appropriate shipping carrier unless otherwise specified by the customer, processes shipments through USPS, UPS, and FedEx, and delivers packages to the appropriate shipment locations daily.
4) Receiving: receives incoming packages and shipments, ensures the quality and accuracy of all incoming products and bulk herb orders, and stocks products in their designated shelving locations.
5) Branch Communications & Customer Service: provides excellent customer service with a heart for customer satisfaction and loyalty, checks voicemails and assists customers with order issues, returns, and related questions, answers phone calls and promptly and professionally, monitors the shipping email regularly for shipment or store communication questions, and responds accordingly.
6) Warehouse Inventory: assists with checking in and stocking incoming inventory, helps conduct inventory counts to maintain accurate warehouse records, and monitors and orders shipping supplies regularly to ensure the Warehouse can fulfill orders efficiently.
7.) Cleaning: helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized Warehouse environment, assists warehouse team with sweeping, mopping, bathroom cleaning, and general upkeep, and keeps workstations tidy and well-maintained by the end of each day.
This is a full-time role of 36+ hours weekly Monday – Friday.
Starting pay based on experience: $18 - $20 an hour.
