Bladder and urinary tract infections can occur for a variety of reasons. If you focus on restoring health and alkalinity to the body, you see that healing the body naturally is the most effective way. Before we jump into solutions, let’s take a look at some of the causes of bladder and urinary tract infections:

  • Infection of the bladder (cystitis). This type of UTI is usually caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli), a type of bacteria commonly found in the gastrointestinal (G.I.) tract.

  • Infection of the urethra (urethritis). This type of UTI can occur when G.I. bacteria spread from the anus to the urethra.

  • High oxalate crystals in the kidney/bladder area.

  • Parasites. Parasites are often the deeper, underlying root cause of many bladder infections.

Urinary tract and bladder infections affect millions of people every year. The good news is, there are many natural remedies available to help treat and prevent these infections from happening again. Below are our top six tips for preventing and healing from a urinary tract and bladder infection, plus our protocol for knocking out a UTI fast.

1. HYDRATION & MINERALS. Dehydration is not an option for kidney and bladder issues. If possible, drink alkaline, negatively ionized water or purified water. Add one teaspoon of high-quality sea salt or Himalayan salt to a glass of water every morning. This can supply the body with the combined energy of 84 essential ionized minerals. You can also try the SOLE method. To use, soak Himalayan Crystal Salt Stones in water overnight. In the morning, add one teaspoon of the SOLE water to filtered water and drink on an empty stomach.

2. DIET. Eating raw fruits and veggies as part of your regular diet is the fastest way to heal. Acidic foods lower the pH (increases the acidity) of your urine, while alkaline foods raise the pH (increases the alkalinity) and reduce the acidity of your urine. Be sure to eat raw fruits and vegetables that have high water content. These types of foods will flush the kidneys, ureters, and bladder to remove bacteria and infections. See the alkaline food chart below. Make sure the majority of your diet (at least 80%) is foods that are alkaline or neutral.

High oxalates can cause crystals and subsequent bladder irritation and infections. The highest sources of oxalates includes spinach, all nuts, soy, and peanuts. Reduce or eliminate these foods. Lemons and apple cider vinegar can help break down these crystals and flush the kidneys and bladder.

3. KIDNEY CLEANSE. A healthy urinary tract is needed to maintain normal fluid balance and to clean the body of metabolic wastes. The cleansing of the kidneys increases proper fluid excretion and helps to maintain a healthy urinary tract environment.

4. FASTING. Try a juice fast or mono-diet for a few days or a few weeks, depending on how bad your symptoms are. A juice fast is when you drink only fresh vegetable and fruit juices (mostly veggies ideally and one fruit for taste). A mono-diet is when you eat only one fruit (preferably grapes or watermelon) each day. For example, you could eat only grapes or watermelon for 1-3 days and add lemon juice water for an even more significant effect. For best results, take herbs along with your fast to eradicate the infection while you're flushing out fluids.

5. PROBIOTICS. Living, healthy probiotics deliver balance to the gut. Probiotics also help to fight off incoming invading organisms like yeast, candida, fungus, and other bacterial infections. If you’ve taken even one round of antibiotics in the past, then your body is probably depleted of good bacteria. Additionally, probiotics assist with bowel regularity and proper absorption of our nutrients.

6. STRENGTHEN ADRENALS. Strengthening the adrenals is essential for any healing program. The adrenals sit on top of the kidneys and play a huge role in healthy kidney function.

7. PARASITE CLEANSE. A little known deeper root cause of bladder issues is parasites. We would encourage a parasite cleanse with every protocol for best results. Add a parasite cleanse to your kidney cleanse, colon cleanse, UTI protocol, etc.

KNOCK OUT A UTI FAST.

Urinary tract and bladder infections can be extremely uncomfortable and painful. If you've ever had one, you know you want to get rid of it as soon as possible. During the pain and discomfort, we know how easy it is to run to the doctor's office and grab an antibiotic, but we encourage you to try these remedies instead. Antibiotics can provide quick relief, but the longterm effects are often not worth it. When antibiotics kill harmful bacteria, they also kill good bacteria. This can actually make your body more susceptible to infections in the future. Here are some of the best products we've used and recommended to clients for years to help overcome these infections and provide relief quickly.

Top UTI product recommendations:

  • U.T. Vibrance by Vibrant HealthThis is by far the best product we've seen for fast results. This U.T. Vibrance supports a healthy urinary tract with d-mannose and a blend of impactful botanicals, including cranberry and parsley. Choose from capsules or powder. Take it every day until empty, like a natural antibiotic treatment.

  • U.T. Biotic by Vibrant HealthFollow-up U.T. Vibrance by taking U.T. Biotic once a day for maintenance. This supplement helps maintain urogenital health by warding off unwanted, harmful bacteria.

  • Food-Grade Baking Soda. Using warm water, add 1/2 teaspoon of food-grade baking soda and the juice of 1/2 a lemon and/or one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Drink on an empty stomach morning and night.
