1.  God is the Creator of all things; including the universe, this earth and our bodies

  • Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

  • Genesis 1:27 – “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

2.  There is only one true God, existing in three persons – The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

  • Matthew 28:19 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

3.  God has given us all the food we need in its original, unprocessed, unadulterated form

  • Genesis 1:29 – “And God said, ‘See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.’”

4.  The human body was created by God and we should therefore honor God with our bodies

  • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

  • Romans 12:1-2 – “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

5.  God’s creation and natural laws are always better than the ways of man

  • 1 Corinthians 2:5 – “That your faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

  • Proverbs 3:7-8 – “Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.”

6.  God is the source of all healing; physically, emotionally and spiritually.

  • Psalm 102:2-3 – “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your disease.”

  • Psalm 34:17-20 – “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.”

7.  Effective prayer is critical for health, wellness and all other areas of life

  • Phillippians 4:6-7 – “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

  • James 5:13-16 – “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

8.  A life of purpose and value is found in walking out the first two Commandments

  • 1 Peter 4:11 – “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

  • Matthew 22:37-39 – “Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

9.  A daily relationship with the Holy Spirit will lead to growing in the fruits of the Spirit

  • Galatians 5:22-24 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

10.  There is strength in the Spirit of God and weakness in our own flesh

  • Galatians 5:16 – “I say then: ‘Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of your flesh.’”

  • Matthew 26:41 – “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
